This morning I attended the announcement presentation for the new IMBA Ride Centers initiative and I gotta say I'm pretty stoked. The idea is that Ride Centers will show off best practices in trail design while making mountain biking more accessible to a wider range of riders. Centers will incorporate world-class facilities and programs for educating riders and will serve as "social hubs" for local cycling communities. The ultimate goal is to help grow mountain biking and serve as examples for trail systems around the country.

There is no word on specific locations for ride centers (though it sounds like Winter Park in Colorado may be one of the first) so, as always, stay tuned. Let's continue to support IMBA as they work to make mountain biking more accessible and sustainable in the future.
