Maximize fall with some high-energy cardio laps at Douthat State Park on a fantastic mix of single track, double track, fire road, and some serious elevation gain with either a trail run in the morning or a mountain bike race later in the day, or both. Nestled in the Allegheny Mountains of southcentral Virginia and surrounded by the George Washington National Forest, the park opened in 1936 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of the original state parks in Virginia, and its design played a large in park development across the United States. The Outside Family Vacation Guide named Douthat State Park one of the nation's 10 best.
We will capture race times with our bib chip timing system as you enjoy the mix of rocky and smooth trails. Mountain bikers will complete 1, 2 or 3 laps depending on division. Mountain bike laps will be 10 miles in length.
