We talk with Kenny Griffin, NICA board member and the director of the Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League director about the exciting world of middle and high school mountain bike racing. It turns out NICA isn’t just about racing–it’s a much broader program that’s designed to introduce youth to the sport of mountain biking, and to mentor those young people using volunteer coaches. NICA is perhaps the most exciting thing to happen in mountain biking in many years, with leagues enrolling record-breaking numbers of student athletes all over the USA.
Learn more about NICA and the Georgia Interscholastic Cycling League, and find out how you can volunteer or donate to these outstanding organizations.

Wow, awesome podcast Aaron. Best of the year in my humble but accurate opinion. =) Nothing better and maybe nothing more important than parents and adults investing in kids, building character and instilling values (whatever the venue may be). I want to write more, but I would go on and on and nobody would probably read it because it would be too long. I’ll just say that I am thrilled to see the NICA movement continuing to grow all across the country. It stands for the right things. So many kids’ lives will be changed for the better … much better.
What if we all forego one upgrade this coming year and donated $250 to a local NICA chapter. Sounds like that would buy half a bike for a needy kid (in the GA League) or meet a whole bunch of other needs. Money more than well spent.
