“Hey, nice bike! How do you like it?” As far as conversation starters go, it’s a popular trailhead go-to. But it rarely elicits a meaningful response.
“I love it,” is the answer 99.9% of the time. Not that it’s untrue; bikes are designed for our enjoyment and like a cute puppy, it’s hard to stay mad at a bad bike for very long. We love our bikes because they bring us joy. (Also, we spend lots of money on them so they better bring us joy.) For this reason Singletracks contributors generally don’t review bikes we own; we’re just too biased!
But… If you were able to step outside your own purchase confirmation bias, what’s one thing you would say you don’t like about your bike? No bike is perfect and here again, Singletracks product reviewers are always required to come up with something that could be improved, no matter how awesome a bike may be.
