In typical Evil style, the brand dropped their latest revision sans press releases or first ride reviews, teasing the lines of the frame on their Instagram account over the past week. While most brands will try to infuse their newly released bikes on any and all channels available, Evil does things a little differently and it’s admirable that they are not press-obsessed when it comes to getting the word out.
The Offering follows the Following and Wreckoning, which both received updates and sleeker lines recently. Rear travel is still 140mm, keeping it pegged as an aggressive trail bike, and the geometry is built around a 150 or 160mm fork.
On a size medium bike in the X-Low setting, the HTA is 65.8° and the STA is 76°. The seat tube length is as stubby as ever at 390mm, with a BB height at 339mm. The chain stay length is also quite stubby, at 430mm for the 29er. The wheelbase measures 1,207mm. While all these seem rather conservative, the Offering pushes it with a 469mm reach on the medium and a super-low 684mm standover height. Evil makes an aftermarket angle set with four additional settings on top of its stock two.
Frame details include full internal cable routing, a one-piece rear triangle for increased stiffness, and 157mm Superboost+ spacing, that will run tires as wide as 2.6″. Rubber reinforcements can be found around the chainline and downtube for extra protection.
The new frame of course uses their DELTA suspension platform. Framesets start at $3,300 and complete bikes start at $5,800 for a SRAM GX build with Industry Nine wheels, SRAM G2 RS brakes, and a RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork. See the Evil website for more details.
