Coal Basin Ranch opens for first full season

The Coal Basin Ranch trails in Colorado officially opened for the season on May 28 for what will be the first full season of access. According to a social media post, coordinator Luke DeMuth worked this spring to get all the trails cleared and open in time. “The blowdown from the spring wind storms was extraordinary. Bear Ridge is in great shape as a result.The pump track is dry and ready for wheels. Added bonus: We planted new trees, willows, grasses and other vegetation around the pond.”

Bike park under construction in Northamptonshire, slated to open this summer

A former golf course in Northamptonshire, England is being transformed into a mountain bike park thanks to £725K in grants and funding. The park is set to open later this summer and will feature a pump track plus progressive jump lines.

Jackson Hole bike park opens for the season

The bike park at Jackson Hole resort in Wyoming opened this past weekend for summer operations. More than a dozen trails are currently open, including Dirty Hairy and Quick Draw, and the park features two lifts and trails rated for beginners to experts.

Wood River Trails Coalition auctioning bike for better trails

Wood River Trails Coalition based in Sun Valley, Idaho is auctioning a new Trek Top Fuel 9.7 off this summer to support their stewardship efforts. Folks that donate at least $10 will be eligible to win the bike. Raffle tickets support trail maintenance, new trail construction, and future projects. Enter the raffle here. It ends on September 2nd.

IMBA Trail Accelerator Grant applications open through July 31

IMBA’s Trail Accelerator Grant program is designed to “provide a jump-start to communities that have the interest and political support to develop trail systems but need assistance to get projects up and running.” Groups can apply now through July 31 for funding to support new trail planning efforts.

New Creekside trail opens at Farmdale

The Peoria Area Mountain Bike Association just opened a new mountain bike trail in the Farmdale Recreation area called Creekside. According to a social media post, “A couple of sections still have a bit of vegetation in the tread, so we really need folks to come out and ride it in!! Just follow the orange flags and help us out!”

Skills park added to Burchfield in Michigan

Ingham County Parks just opened the Dirt School, a mountain bike “playground” at Burchfield Park in Holt, Michigan that includes wooden features, tube tunnels, and oversized traffic cones for cornering skills practice.

Mountain Creek Park unveiled in Catawba County, North Carolina

Mountain Creek Park outside of Charlotte, North Carolina is officially opening this weekend. The park features a 19+ miles of trails, a pump track, MTB skills area, and bike tool station.
