The RockShox Recon may not be the lightest or most capable fork on our list, but it’s certainly one of the most affordable, starting at $260. Few riders actually purchase the Recon by itself; it’s generally found installed on low to mid-range mountain bikes with 80-120mm of travel.
Still, the Recon offers Solo Air suspension with weights in the 1,800g range for all three major wheel sizes. With options for a tapered, aluminum steerer and the ability to run disc brake rotors up to 210mm, this is a versatile, budget-friendly, and durable fork that shouldn’t be overlooked.
