I have road 26" FS for years, I recently switched to a ridged carbon 29er. I’ve bought the bike last January . It did take some getting used to as far as riding with a little more body flex and , out of the seat more. Now I really enjoy the bike. Do I wish I went with a FS 29er not sure , I don’t think I could get a FS as lite as the ridged at 24 lbs. and it’s an xl . Good luck with your decision. I think most people that really try a 29er will like them .
I road for a little over 22 miles yesterday. the first 11 miles loop was average speed, but the second I hit it fairly hard. At the 21 miles my body gave up worse than I have ever felt. how do you build up for more endurance and does this happend to others, i’m talking I was not able to ride out!!

How much were you eating and drinking during your ride, and how much had you ridden before that?[/quote:2kia85i0]
im getting about 15 to 30 miles a week , not near what I would like. I drank pleanty of water but should have had some food with me I ate a banana between loops but it wasnt enough.
I have had 2 Ibex and have ordered a third. I’m getting me the new Marac 29er for the price and components it’s hard to beat the bang for the buck.

Hope you like narrow rear tires. This is with a 2.2" WTB Wolverine.

well your pic didnt come threw. but I know what your talking about I road one for about a week and had no issues with the 2.2 tire no rub at all. But I will be going with a 2.0 or a 1.9 tire in the rear anyways.hell with my trek 7000 I cant fit a 2.2 on the back of it.

I have had 2 Ibex and have ordered a third. I’m getting me the new Marac 29er for the price and components it’s hard to beat the bang for the buck. But I also love my trek it has been a great bike still going strong and I bought it new in 92. I will say there are tons of bikes out there start hitting some demo days and ride some bikes. Your bound to find something you like that you can live with price, let’s face it none of the good bikes that will last are cheap.

Trek was for first real mnt bike a zx 7000 great bike and still have it. Bought in 92. I have had two Ibex ignitions an 06 then a 09 love both bikes . Now getting the Maroc 29er you should try out these bike before you buy they are serious band for the buck. Don’t limit your self to one name brand you might be missing out on a bike that fits you perfect.
