Cannondale Slate: Gravel Grinder Meets XC Hardtail
On the surface the new Slate from Cannondale looks like a cyclocross bike, but in reality it is a mountain bike in road bike clothing. From the mountain-inspired head and seat tube angles, to the Lefty suspension fork; from the 650b wheels and tires to the 12×142 rear end, the Slate has the heart and soul of a modern XC hardtail. Wrap all that in standard road and ‘cross components and throw on some drop bars, and you have a bike that refuses to be categorized as anything but “fun.”
