I rode a 32 36 on my 26r and was fine but the rides after winter break were a challenge on occasion.
I’m currently riding a 32 42 on a 650B which is a bit easier.
I had no idea there was such a headset, nice to know and thanks 🙂
They’re definitely smarter than they let on to be. “He thinks I don’t know” is what they tell each other lol
Been wearing gloves since the beginning of my mountain biking days. Never wore gloves in my bmx days
My go to glove now and for the last few years has been the Specialized Enduro. Love this glove. So far this is the worst crash, it really shouldn’t have been a crash but I think the lack of warmup and being offline at the start killed my legs which then had difficulty in supporting the mass above them lol
Riding weight I’m probably right around 230 and I run SRAM XO Trails with metallic pads on 180 rotors front and rear and they’re great. Never really been a fan of pads or brakes with a high initial cf.
I say go test ride them and see what feels best to you. If you have to then rent them, money spent on rental will be well worth it in the end.
I just built up an Enduro and love it so maybe checkout what Specialized has to offer as well?
This is awesome
thanks
i always take a pic of my serial number so I can easily report it if it ever happens.
Awesome stuff guys
the bike is built and all is well, she was just in one of those moods lol
i did work the bike in slowly and she did give the go ahead but I originally said I’d build it over a couple of months. Not really sure what I was thinking when I said that lol
took my first ride yesterday and it was awesome
Sexist man chiming in 🙂
I’d hate to see those ads go so why not add something for the ladies? I’m just thinking about the models careers you know 😉
In all seriousness though, I think it’s awesome that women are recognized in this sport and rightly so because they are simply hauling ass.
Rachel Atherton & Holly Feniak come to mind. I know there are many more but this is coming from a guy who met Matt Hunter and said “you look familiar”
lol yes
If it brings the price of 1X11 down then I’m all for it 🙂
Unsafe conditions? Is that really a thing with riding a bicycle. You ultimately are in charge of the direction (or should be), ride within your limits.
I was always of the thought that building a bike ends up being more costly? Is that not the case anymore? I built my ElGuapo but if I built anything else it would’ve been way too pricey.
I think a demo bike from a shop if you can find one would be the best bang for your buck, the shops usually give you a warranty and they’re kept in great condition because they’re using them as a way to help make a sale.
Be careful with buying used from private party if you go that route.
September 7, 2014 at 14:35 in reply to: Sintered or Organic pads and why. What’s your preference #125190Thanks for the info Syd, how do you go about burnishing or bedding in your pads? In the car I normally do a few stops from 60-10 then 80-10 and 100-10 but this varies depending on the brand of pad I use. I’ve been using performance friction pads and there’s really no need for the above nonsense anymore.
My metallic pads were quiet for some time and recently started making noise, I’m going to go through the calipers and clean them up as well as bleed them. Once I’m done I might have my wife take me up the hill a few times and get the pads bed in properly.
The metallic pads might be a bit of an overkill 99% of the time lol I’ll probably switch back to organica when the sintereds wear out.
Since you mentioned San Jose and Santa Cruz what is your choice trail in those two areas?
Have you ridden Solstice? How would you compare that to Skeggs?
Awesome, thanks for the info everyone.
I went with sintered this time and so far so good, I’ll update once I get some real rides in.Got mine few weeks back and i think they’re fantastic, the stem design makes so much sense.
Definitely a fun place to ride, we’re pretty lucky with all the awesome trails in the Bay Area.
Where did you end up riding and what did you think if it?
