After 10 years of riding I finally replaced the 3x9 to 1x11 and love this bike just as much as the first day. Hard pressed to ever get rid of this thing.
Pros Reign 2 2006 amazingly durable and smooth riding. Long rides and steep slopes are very comfortable.
Cons The shock is exposed and needs a protective wrap to prevent damage
In my opinion the Reign is one of the best do everything platforms available. This is mostly due to the Maestro suspension design that is firm when pedaling but very active on the rough. I personally have built mine up as an AM bike but it also performs beautifully my local jump/freeride trails too.
The Reign is well balanced and provides good feedback when riding.
The downsides are mainly build specific and have been addressed in the newer versions. The 1-1/8 steerer limits the fork types you can run and the lack of ISCG tabs is really a downer. Lastly the cable clips nearest to the headtube tend to creak and make noise after a couple of rides.
At the end of the day I can't really complain and absolutely love my Reign. I'd recommend them to anyone!
Pros - Maestro suspension design is the best in the business
- Minimal pedal bob
- Pedals like a dream
- Suspension feels bottomless
- Solid do everything platform
Cons - 1-1/8 Steerer tube
- No ISCG tabs
- Bearings/pivots aren't protected
- Cable clip by headtube tend to squeak
Love this bike, this climbs better than my 500 dollar hard tail, light, solid, great bike love it
Pros All good so far, had this for almost 3 weeks. Climbs like a mule stock kenda nevegal stick well in mud and most all terrain ( a little week in gravel, arent they all) brakes are strong and have plenty of stopping power, already went over the handlebars a few times. Suspensions does a nice job of soaking up what I throw at it. Seat works for me.
Cons Having a bit of trouble getting the front derailleur dialed in other than that this is a great one
Pros Plush and efficient suspension. Light bike (given the >6" travel). Hayes stroker are good brakes. Got me the 2008 model in 2009 at a great price. Immediately replaced the wheels (XT hubs and DT rims) and BB (SLX) set which use to be the weak link in my 2006. I hope the 2008 will last longer than my 2006 Reign 0 (was good bike but lasted less than 2 years).
A great bike with lots of potential it can even be built up a bit tougher...A good change is to put a 36mm fork with 20mm axle up front and it can take bigger hits....
Pros This bike rode very well descending with this was very fun it was stable and solid. decent control in corners and absorbed the bumps wonderfully.
Great all-around bike
Pros
Control

A decent bike that handles well except it`s a bit much to ride up long hills
Pros
Solid build. Decent parts, with all Fox suspension. Great brakes
Cons
Thank |Protective plate breaks easily and if your over 200lbs you need to upgrade the spring. A bit on the heavy side for a bike

Thank |This bike was a bit heavy the way i rode it
Great for a experienced but non competitive rider who wants to do all styles of the mountain. Good value!
Pros
Great all around bike. Super plush travel. But can climb well too. Can do all styles of riding.
Cons
Thank |If u wanna race XC it's too heavy. If you wanna race downhill, it's not beefy enough.
Buy this bike, it can handle the full spectrum of riding, everything from cross country to freeride, rock rides really well too.
Pros
very plush, easy to set up suspension, great pedal efficency, awesome parts spec, feels like you are going slow, but the times don't lie...
Cons
Thank |tires, change them to kenda nevegals, 2.35 front, 2.10 rear
