A while back we asked you how wide your mountain bike handlebars are, and on average you said 763mm. Of course when it comes to hand position, the other half of the equation is the stem length.

Agreed. My handlebars are 780 as well.
Since stem length is measured from center of steering bore to center of handlebar clamp,I’m having a hard time figuring out how a stem could possibly be 20mm or less.
Picky, picky. ๐
The idea behind the ranges of handlebar widths is that many of us cut ours so they are rarely exact. Also, it’s sort of like how there’s a wide range of trail bikes — some are more toward the XC end of the spectrum, others closer to all mountain. I guess there’s a trail bike that sits right in the middle (or handlebar that’s exactly 760mm), but most of us tend to say even the ones in the middle lean slightly one way or another.
The 20mm or less stem choice is a honey pot for the griefers, ha!
Kind of a weird poll…what if your bars are 760 or 780 etc? Mine are 780, so I picked 780-800, but thatโs not really true. Also my stem is 45mm but i could be an outlier there lol.
