We’re excited to announce that Singletracks has partnered with Google Field Trip to provide mountain bike trail and travel information in the free Google Field Trip app (Android and iOS). Field Trip is an app that allows you to discover interesting places based on your location, and now that information includes some of the best mountain bike trails all over the world!

How it works:

Field Trip is your guide to the cool, hidden, and unique things in the world around you. Field Trip runs in the background on your phone. When you get close to something interesting, it pops up a card with details about the location. No click is required. If you have a headset or bluetooth connected, it can even read the info to you.

Unlike the official Singletracks app, Field Trip doesn’t require you to open the app to get trail info–the info just pops up when you’re close to a trail system, which is a great way to discover new places to ride. The Singletracks information you’ll see is pulled from the trail database and also our massive editorial archives, which means you’ll also get detailed trip reports for many trail systems.

If you haven’t seen Field Trip (and you like discovering new places), give the app a try as you travel this spring. You might just discover a great trail system you didn’t know existed!

Sounds great Jeff! Hope it opens the world of singletracks to those who are scared to join a sight such as this. There are so many ways to find trails on the web but it takes a lot of time. Then you only get a small portion of the info, the location, and probably no map. Keep expanding the world of singletracks my friend and we will follow, one trail at a time.
