This month we tracked more than a dozen new trail openings, including several singletrack additions to already massive trail networks. Not only that, a couple lift-served bike parks opened in unlikely places!
Browns Creek Pathway (East Jordan, Michigan): Top of Michigan Mountain Biking Association (TOMMBA) recently opened this 5-mile trail that’s designed with riders of all skill levels in mind.
E.T. – Extra Terrestrial (North Bend, Washington): Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance opened this fast and flowy ripper at Tiger Mountain this summer.
Frost Fire Park (Walhall, North Dakota): It’s 2021, so why not open a bike park in North Dakota? Frost Fire offers multiple lift-served downhill trails, and the park boasts 350ft. of vertical drop from top to bottom.
Hilltop Bike Park (Anchorage, Alaska): Alaska also got a new lift-served bike park in August.
Horns Hill Park (Newark, Ohio): 17 new bike trails and connectors were added to Horns Hill Park this month.
Marquette Mountain Resort (Marquette, Michigan): Marquette Mountain Resort just opened lift-served access to seven downhill trails for moderate to advantage riders.
Moore Park (Klamath Falls, Oregon): The Klamath Trails Alliance helped add a new skills area to the Moore Park Trail network.
Norcross (Windsor, Vermont): This new 8-mile trail connects to the Mt. Ascutney State Park trails, and opened in July.
Rockwell Park (Bristol, Connecticut): A new pump track was added to Rockwell Park.
Rockwood Park (St. John, New Brunswick): New “enduro-style” trails, built by Shoreline Dirtworks, were added to the sprawling Rockwood Park trail network.
Rocky Branch Trail (Belmont, North Carolina): The grand (re?) opening for the Rocky Branch trail took place on August 7, and the multi-use trail is part of the Carolina Thread Trail.
Sharps Ridge Memorial Park (Knoxville, Tennessee): The park added a new 1.1-mile-long adaptive mountain bike trail this month.
Welcome Park / Bike Yard (Dayton, Ohio): The first phase of the Bike Yard project opened to the public with a course of rollers and obstacles best described as a bicycle playground.
Whipsaw (Copper Harbor, Michigan): The renowned Copper Harbor Trail system just got a new, downhill, flow-style trail.
Wildwood Mountain Bike Trails (Yucaipa, California): Wildwood City Park officially opened phases one and two of their trail project, bringing two miles of singletrack to Yucaipa.
