The intent is in the numbers. 740mm wide, 167g heavy, 10mm rise. These new Race Face Next SL carbon bars are made for cross country mountain bike riding, if not racing. Race Face released their new bars, made from unidirectional carbon in a flex-engineered layout, which they say “wipes out the bad horizontal flex that leads to poor steering precision.”
The 35mm bar diameter may not seem too XC, but that diameter has led to lighter bars for the brand, and they don’t seem to be backtracking anytime soon.
The Next SL handlebars have an 8° bend and 5° of upsweep. The price is $180. Need them narrower? They can be cut down to 690mm. See more at Raceface.com. The video below is worth a watch.
