It’s clear that bikes have become somewhat of a lifeline during the pandemic. For Kevin Greg, the story is no different. He ordered his yellow Norco Sight “one week before all hell broke loose with the pandemic,” and everyone has needed a little bit of motivation to make it through quarantine.

Greg adds that, “seeing this thing come together, and then riding the finished product every day since, might have been the only thing to get me through quarantine.”

Greg lives near Jackson, Wyoming in Victor, Idaho and wanted a bike for everything.

“Our local riding consists of a lot of long, steep climbing with a wide variety of downhill options with everything from long, fast flow trails, to steep and technical trails and everything between. The new Sight checks every box — it climbs competently and comfortably and is a rocket ship on the descents. It makes long days in the saddle exploring new areas a blast.”

Greg says he was fortunate enough to be in a position that hasn’t been affected by the pandemic and he felt secure enough buying a new rig.

“I look at the bike as an investment in my health and well-being, so I never really got any feeling of buyer’s remorse. Even if I had a brief moment of buyer’s remorse, that would have disappeared quickly after the first ride.”

Greg left the build up to the guys at Hoff’s Bikesmith in Jackson, who also built up a set of custom wheels for him. Hoff’s builds an assortment of wheels. Greg went with a set of their rims, mounted to Industry Nine hubs. “Hoff’s wheels are very popular and well-represented in the local riding community,” he says.

Once it was all built up, Greg had to drive out of the Jackson area a little bit so he could find some dry dirt to ride.

“The only thing that held me back on the first ride of the year was my own fitness, or lack thereof. It has kept me sane. Since trails closer to home have started drying out and opening up, I have been riding every day that I can. It has helped my mental health as much as my physical health. It has also given me a way to safely interact with friends again.”
