The 2025 Red Bull Rampage men’s lineup was announced today, and an impressive list of freeride athletes is set to take the field in Utah this October. However, we immediately noticed that one well-known name is missing: Brandon Semenuk.

Semenuk has won Red Bull Rampage more than any other athlete, with five wins beginning in 2008. He won last year’s competition, edging Szymon Godziek by a little more than a point with a score of 92.73 vs. 91.66. As of today, it appears he will not be returning in 2025 to defend his most recent title.

Why isn’t Brandon Semenuk on the 2025 Red Bull Rampage roster?
Going back to 2008, Semenuk has only missed Rampage twice. In 2010, he missed the competition due to a collarbone injury suffered at Crankworx. In 2023, Semenuk skipped Rampage so he could race the Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR), a rally car race.
This year’s Red Bull Rampage men’s competition is set for October 18 and LSPR is set to take place October 17-18, so this could explain Semenuk’s absence from the roster. However, Singletracks has been unable to confirm. We’ll update this article with official word from Semenuk about his plans.
Even without Semenuk, this year’s competition will be incredible
In addition to the men’s competition on October 18, a full roster of freeride women are set to compete in Virgin, UT on October 16.
