Mountain Biking Sunset Mesa Open Space

***   Add a review
#794 of 1,359 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#8,813 in the world

This is a very narrow and quite small Open Space. The main trail run the length of the Open Space which has two legs to it -- a north south running leg and an east west running leg. The trails are narrow singletrack. It is mostly easy intermediate riding with a few advanced features along the way. There are some smaller, short side trails to look for to add a little more distance and some techy fun.

Getting there
The Open Space is basically south of Vickers between Flintridge and Rangewood. It can be accessed off of several small neighborhood streets. Maybe the best is at the end of Bridlespur Ridge Place.

Lots of narrow singletrack that twists and turns constantly. This is not a fast trail, but there are fun features throughout that keep it interesting.
Beware there are some advanced features also, especially as you drop off the main trail running east and west onto side trails. Some good stuff. The soil is quite soft and becomes very muddy when wet. This is not a destination location because it is so short. It is quite close to the High Chaparral Open Space. So you can do both of them on the same outing to make each of them worth the visit. They very different types of rides.
