Q: Can I run a hard tail or is a trail/enduro with full suspension a better choice for this trail -Ryan C.

A: hardtail is fine, although full susp will help you out further into the trail network as the trails get tougher

Review: Great network of trails. Well maintained. Main trail and Carriage are just the tip of the iceberg. Plenty of rocks and roots to keep you challenged for days.

Review: Best XC trail system in Capital District. If you can't find a trail here to enjoy, sell your bike and get some golf clubs.

Review: My main place for years. Have been to Moab, Burke and everything in between and I must say this pace will humble you. It is NOT for beginners. Even the carriage road has a nasty ledge!. That said it is unmatched technical riding. Very difficult with FEW sections where you can relax. Not a lot of climbing, but the technicalities will wear you out. The typical surface is mixed dirt, root, rocks winding thru tight trees, shallow ledges, shallow hills. This is a place where mtn biking demands tactics. Just exhilarating. Can easily spend the day here....if you survive that long.

Review: Excellent network of trails built and maintained by the SMBA. Everything from family-friendly green doubletrack to highly technical double diamond sphincter-clenching singletrack. LOTS of fun!

Review: If you are a rider that likes to go fast and have lots of flow these trails aren't for you. VERY TECHNICAL trails some of the things there are almost unridable and you will find your self walking your bike at times. It was very hard on a hardtail and I'm not a pro so if are a really advanced rider this is this place for you. But overall it was fun and I had a good time on my bike.

Review: Just rode there June 12. Trail is awesome. Not for beginners. Rooty, rocky at times - but great. About a 1/2 mile ride in on a carriage trail. There is plenty of parking(probably space for 10 cars using both parking lots on either side of road)Trail markings aren't the best. Almost no obstacles, just pure Adirondack style mountain biking. If you are accustomed to Gurney Lane or Luther Forest, this is a completely different animal

Review: Rocks, roots, drops, twisty, up and down...all VERY technical. Humbled by this old school Eastern trail system. Not for the timid, or beginners. Tough to get my groove and rhythm going here but my level is intermediate. For advanced riders only (except for carriage roads). Signage is good. Bring your full suspension bike and hone up your technical "trials-type" skills.

Review: Great network of advanced trails for the accomplished rider. I have a hard-tail and it truly kicked my *ss. My first ride there, and I got a little lost, even with a map, as some trails are marked and some are not, the map at the 'sign in kiosk' was gone, so when you guess, you may not be where you think you are. I got oriented soon after, but most new rides are an adventure till you get used to what is what. Looking forward to my next ride there.... Fun Fun Fun.
