Mountain Biking Pinhoti Trail: P2

*****   Add a review
#12 of 393 mountain bike trails in Georgia
#182 in the world

This section of trail runs from Wilderness Road to Mulberry Gap Road. It's a
great out and back ride all by itself!

From the junction of the gravel roads on Wilderness Road (see driving
directions), climb about a half a mile up the road marked with the Pinhoti
signs, and then turn right past the gate and onto the trail.

The singletrack climbs along an old road grade for a mile or so before diving
into the deep woods. It then begins to drop steeply down towards
Mulberry Gap Road. When you reach the road, turn around and ride back up
the way you came, if you are doing an out-and-back. Total length is roughly
4 miles each way.

Awesome trail. Bring your climbing legs and lungs. Not to worry, you will be rewarded. Don't forget to stop every once in a while to take in the views.

Great add-on to Pinhoti P1 / Bear Creek, especially if you're staying at Mulberry Gap Mountain Bike Resort (which I highly recommend). Lots of great downhill flow.

Fun trail, best to ride it north to south and to loop it with P1 (and Bear Creek).

P2 What can I say!! The first maybe mile of this trail is a climb, but once you get to start to bomb down the backside of it, you'll have a shit eating grin from ear to ear!! Would be sweet if this trail was double the length since when it's over you wish you had that much more of it to ride!!

Once the trail turns downhill, this is a totally rocking ride! The section of singletrack on the old road grade really isn't that bad either. It is a real bear of a climb coming back up, though. But the scenery deep in the woods is so pretty, you won't even mind!
