Trail Description
About this trail
Mitchell Memorial Forest is a Hamilton County (Ohio) Park and the Mountain Bike trail within the forest was built by the volunteer members of CORA (Cincinnati Off Road Alliance) with the permission, support and help of Hamilton County Parks. This great relationship and the hard work of many volunteers has resulted in a terrific 4 mile loop built very carefully to IMBA standards. The trail is 95% singletrack with nice, gradual elevation change. Terrific maintenance and several whoop-dee-doo roller coaster sections throughout keep the flow rolling while some great switchbacks,
narrow between the tree passages, rock gardens and a log-over or two make this trail great for the Beginner and fun for the intermediate rider as well. Those looking for a workout can ride the loop a few times in either direction thanks to the fact that the trail is non-directional and both ends are located opposite one another in the parking lot. Please help CORA keep this a terrific trail by following IMBA's rules of the trail- Resist the urge to ride when the trail system is wet. Enjoy your ride at Mitchell Memorial Forest.

Review: This is a fun trail system. There is not a lot of terrain here, but they used what the had well. Well marked and a good ride.

Review: I stopped here a few weeks ago for an hour after work. It's a well kept trail that is a lot less work than Devou. It's not horribly long, but there's more fun to find every lap. I am going to find my way back here more often. Get a park pass or pay $3 to get in.

Review: The guys who built this trail could give clinics in sustainable trail building. It is a pretty fun trail. There is a good mix of flow and technical areas. There are some moderately punchy climbs and the overall elevation change is not as big as you might think when you drive to the park. It was worth traveling out of our way to check it out.

Review: I'm getting fed up with this notion of a trail being bi directional. I'm lived in the UK and in Nz and this very unsafe practice of allowing riders to freely go in either direction is unbelievable. So, can someone please explain why trails are bidirectional? It really does not encourage one to push it... In case someone is doing the same but going the other way.

Review: It was first time on this trail and I really did enjoy it but one guy walking parking talking crap about mountain biking trying to nag about us using trail b while walking his dog in a narrow down hill trail by steep ledges think we should move how is that when going down hill is hard enough being 300 hundred pound guy he can move aside a lot faster than bikers could you can here chains rattling before you can see us but we can't here walkers before seeing them so who should have right away its just rubbed me wrong way but other than that it's a great ride and views

Review: I fast hike this trail all the time. I agree that you as bikers have the right of way. It is easy for me to hop off the trail for a second to let you pass. You on the other hand cannot stop and cannot see us as quickly. I have at times had my music up and missed a biker coming but I always apologize and get out of the way as quickly as I can.

Review: Mitchell is my 'go to' trail. We can get there in about 25 minutes on a weeknight and park free once we get our Hamilton park pass.

The 'A' trail provide a good early season workout with a good mix of twisty climbs and descents, while the 'B' trail is more technical for later in the summer when bike handling skills have started to come back online.

We always find a good community of other riders out on the trail here as well.

As others have mentioned, the trail steward is to be congratulated. The trails here just keep getting better and better.
