Review: As I prepared my bike at the staging area, a local [unnamed] aid Little Pine t. was a bitchin ride. He warned me that I would have run high and shoulder my bike to clear one of the landslide sections. As I was riding alone, I took him at his word. At 2.5 miles up the trail there is a ride on the right called Cameasu Connector. Not near the exposure as Buckhorn but just as fun. It was about 4 miles down and up to Paradise road. Then an easy pedal, with a mile of singletrack back to the traihead. The first 2.5 miles up Buckhorn will eork you out.
It was a less itimidating ride

Review: Little Pine is a brutal climb followed by a jaw-dropping single track descent off the top of the mountain. The climb is very steep initially, but fire road the whole way to the top. The singletrack downhill is on the edge of a steep face at the top with technical sections the whole way down, including short, unridable landslide sections.

Review: Great route. Tough fireroad climb followed by an awesome ST downhill. I rode this in the spring and the wildflowers were everywhere. A little exposed in places but rideable.

Similar Trail: Hahn, San Juan Trail

Review: Long fire road climb. Steep at bottom then levels out for a long grind. Downhill off of Upper Oso is a little sketchy at the top. Lots of off camber narrow single track. Be cautious or fall a long way down. On a hot day it is a 4 bottle ride.
