Trail Description
About this trail
Whiting Ranch offers a network of gated fire roads and singletrack that connects to greenways and other trails that branch out into the surrounding communities, allowing many local riders to access these challenging hills from the convenience of their own homes.

If you're parking at the trailhead (at the least the one listed here), expect to pay a $3.00 parking fee, but be sure to pick up one of the complimentary maps to help you navigate the trails.

Due to the networked format, you can easily create as short or as long of a ride as you desire.

But in general, there are a variety of different trails here ranging from wide, gated fire roads to bike-optimized singletrack. As with many other rides in So Cal, spend some time climbing up to the top of the hills on the fire roads, and then turn around and bomb down the chunky singletrack! Many of the singletrack trails in Whiting feature perfectly-bermed turns to hold you into the trail, allowing you to really shred the descents! While flowy, the trails are also pretty chunky in spots and will be sure to put your suspension to work.

Review: I wish I could grade it as a low level intermediate . It has obstacles if you can call hikers obstacles. The best thing about trail is convenience if you live in middle to south Orange County. A single shock is all that is required. The uphill is not to hard with exception of maybe last 15 yards which is too short.

Review: Whiting is a nice little trail system with a good combination of challenging fireroad climbs and fun little downhills.

While the standard loops are only 6-7 miles long. The trails also connect with the Cleveland National Forest and O'Neill Wilderness Park trails so you can pretty much add as much mileage as you want.

I does get crowded so pleas be polite to the other trail users.

Review: Great trail system. Something for everyone of all skill levels. A little Sandy at the bottom, after that just small patches of sand here and there. The Mustard Trail was great going down. Worth the climb up!

Review: I'm shocked to see people giving this place 4 stars. It's ok as a local place when there are no other options but it's definitely nothing special. There is a lil bit of flow on the back side but it doesn't last for long. For whatever reason, this place also seems to have more mountain lion sightings that all the other places I've been mountain biking...COMBINED!! The rangers just killed another one within the last week.

Review: Went there for the first time this weekend. Not impressed. I admit I didn't ride every trail but everything seemed like a steep wide fireroad or some mediocre singletrack. No drops. And lots of big rocks on most of the climbs...I rode for about 3 hours checking it out then gave up and went across the street to Oakley for a few runs
