Trail Description
About this trail
Evolution Bike Park at Crested Butte Mountain Resort "has over 25 miles of
downhill and cross country mountain bike trails, a skills zone, dual slalom
course, and numerous natural and man-made obstacles." A number of the trails
on the mountain are multi-use trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding
and are of a more cross-country disposition.

6 of the trails, however, are dedicated and designed solely for downhill mountain
biking! They range in difficulty from beginner all the way up to expert (green
circle to double black diamond). The bike park here at Mount Crested Butte is
relatively new, with these downhill-specific trails having only been constructed
since 2008. Consequently, new trails are seemingly always under construction
at Mount Crested Butte, so expect this paragraph to go out of date (in a good
way) quickly!

Be sure to read the individual trail descriptions for even more information!

Review: It has a nice mix of green to black trails on the system. Problem is that it is fairly pricey, 48 bucks for an all day ticket. Really just an option if you are tired of climbing and riding the hundreds of miles of epic trails in Crested Butte. They do offer an 8 dollar after 4pm ticket on Wednesday which is a good value.

Review: I didn't warm to Evolution Bike Park. It's a pretty average bike park of its type and it's expensive. Two far better lift assisted bike parks are Deer Valley at Park City and Big Sky Resort in Montana.

Review: Are you kidding me? Is there anything more fun than this? I was in town to ride some trails and the condo we rented was right by the lift. After staring at that for a few days, we finally had to buy tickets. Holy fun! I'm now addicted to park riding!

Review: Surprised to see a lack of reviews on this park. Took my wife and kids here early august of this year and it was a huge success. We stuck to beginner and intermediate trails and had a blast. Highly recommend going to the park on your first day in Crested Butte to allow yourself to acclimate to the altitude and avoid any real climbing.

Review: Spent 2 days riding the Evo trails and wish it could have been a month. Rode all the trails on my trail bike the first day and rented a Spec Demo DH bike the 2nd day. Both bikes worked great here. Epic trails. Epic scenery. And I feel like there is beer EVERYWHERE in CO...loved that part :)

Review: This day of shredding at Evolution Bike Park may have been one of the funnest days I've ever spent on a mountain bike! Of course, I've spent so many fun days on mountain bikes it's hard to say, but still. I really need to move somewhere that I can ride DH on a regular basis! If they have managed to Create this many amazing trails in only 3 years, I can't wait to see what the future has in store! Difficulty ranges from beginner to expert. edit: be sure to read my blog post all about CBMR: http://www.singletracks.com/blog/mtb-trails/the-evolution-of-downhill-mountain-biking-in-crested-butte-evolution-bike-park-cbmr/
