Minus those two simple fixes I thoroughly enjoy this bike, I ride 10-15 miles a week and love it.
Pros Great fork
Great frame
nice list of components
Bike amount of bike for the money
Cons Grips always seemed loose, I replaced mine with the Ergon GP-1 grips couldn't be happier.
Rear derailleur is constantly giving me fits.
Brakes - from the factory came the hayes dyno comp brakes, the first time I took it out I almost got seriously injured because come to find out 3 of the 4 pistons on the brakes weren't functioning at all. Took it into the local Trek dealer to get it fixed, when I picked it up it had new shimano hydraulic discs on it!! Complements of Trek. Stops on a dime now.
if you are looking for a solid bike in the 800-1100 range, the Mamba is the bike. Pretty decent fork, brakes are solid, good deal.
Pros Bike has been ridin 280 miles in the first 3-1/2 months. i have not had any unusually problems so far. I have upgraded to a better rear de-railer, but all products are money well spent. i got mine for 930 plus tax.
Cons grips are a little lame, and the tires are not the best, but will obviously be upgraded here soon enough.
In this price range this is a pretty hard bike to beat. After testing similar bikes in the price range this one simply felt like the right bike for me. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Pros Great components for the price
Excellent feel for a 29er
Easily serviced by almost any LBS
Backed by Trek's warranty
Cons Could come with better grips
Pedals are plastic bricks
Would recommend this bike for someone just getting into biking. Could pick up a decent used one cheap.
Pros

Cons
Thank |Brakes need upgrading
