Many of us learned to ride on rusted BMX bikes, but it appears the days of waiting until high school to get that first proper steed may be over for some young riders. German gravity bike brand Young Talent Industries has a pair of new alloy frames on offer, and this time they are aimed at shorter and younger riders. The all new Jeffsy Primus comes in two models that roll on 24″ or 26″ wheels respectively, to accommodate riders who fit in the 135cm-150cm (4’5″ – 5′) or 145cm-160cm (4’9″-5’3″) height ranges.
Both wheel sizes use a 65.5° or 66° flip-chip adjustable head tube angle and a 76.2° or 77° seat tube angle. With those measurements, this should be a proper fun trail machine. The 24″ bike features 130mm of suspension travel front and rear, while the 26″ models have 140mm of travel front and rear.
The Jeffsy Primus JP 24″ has a 370mm reach, 395mm chainstays, a short 95mm headtube to keep the bars low, and a 4mm or 12mm BB drop depending on flip-chip placement.
The smaller 24″ bike is outfitted with a 130mm Manitou Machete Junit fork and McLeod shock; SDG Slater Jr cockpit, seat post, and saddle; a SRAM NX 11-speed drivetrain; SRAM Code R brakes; and SRAM XO1 165mm cranks with a 30t chainring.
All that goodness weighs in at a reported 12.6kg (27.8lbs) and retails for a cool €/$1,899.
You can say it now… 26″ ain’t dead. The Jeffsy Primus JP 26″ stretches the measurements out with a 397mm reach and 415mm chainstays, with the same short 95mm headtube.
The 26″ Jefsy Primus bumps up the fork travel to 140mm, receives a RockShox Deluxe Select shock, 12-speed SRAM SX drivetrain, a 100mm YT dropper post, E*Thirteen cockpit, and the same SRAM Guide R brakes.
The slightly larger and heftier build weighs in at 14.2kg (31lbs) and retails for €/$1,999.
