RockShox Releases New Pike Fork

RockShox has just announced improved models of their Pike, Lyrik, Revelation, Yari, and RS-1 suspension forks.

The performance of the Pike has been improved, while also shaving 150g off its weight. Travel options for the new Pike range up to 160mm for the 27.5″ model and 140mm for the 29″ model.

RockShox has also introduced a new OneLoc remote lever for adjustment of the compression settings from the handlebar.

One big upgrade is a new damper, dubbed the Charger 2 Damper. According to RockShox:

The new damper design provides a wider range of low speed compression adjustment in the Open mode, with a more usable Pedal setting that excels on rolling trails. The Firm setting on Pike and Lyrik has been re-tuned, and remote options with OneLoc provide on-the-fly access to the Firm mode and are an excellent match with RockShox Deluxe, Super Deluxe and Super Deluxe Coil remote rear shocks.

They’ve also added their DebonAir air spring technology to the Pike:

A larger negative air spring resulting in plusher suspension. An intuition born on RockShox’s rear shocks back in 2014 is now a benchmark for superior small bump and traction performance. No longer only reserved to rear shocks, RockShox’s DebonAir air springs complement the trail smoothing performance of many forks in our product range. And while incredibly smooth in the first 1/3 of travel, DebonAir forks and shocks still provide the consistent mid-stroke support that riders know and love.

Of course the new Pike is Boost-spaced, and it can accommodate a max tire size of 2.8″ in the 27.5″ and 29″ models, as well as a 27.5×3.0″ tire in the 29″ fork.

The new Pike will be available April 2017 with prices ranging from $875 to $1,000.

The new Lyrik benefits from the same damper, DebonAir, and sizing upgrades as the Pike, as well as remote compatibility. Prices will range from $1,030-$1,180, and the Lyrik will be available May 2017.

The new Revelation is based off the Pike chassis, so it gets 35mm stanchions for model year 2018. The latest Revelation will be available May 2017 and will retail for $650-$720.

The budget-friendly Yari also receives many of these same benefits:

Yari brings Lyrik’s acclaimed look and proven features, such as the 35mm chassis, Fast Black upper tubes and DebonAir or Dual Position Air™ spring systems, to a wider audience. The refined Motion Control IS damper features Rapid Recovery rebound and its high speed compression circuit is tuned to match the feeling of the Charger damper.

The Yari will be available May 2017 for $700-$780.

RockShox’s inverted XC fork also gets an upgrade:

The evolution of the acclaimed Charger, RockShox’s most advanced damper, brings a whole new level of performance and refinement for each intended use, with an XC focused version developed for SID and now also available on RS-1.

The damper design on SID and RS-1 features a Lock mode that is rock-solid for maximum pedaling efficiency. Remote options with OneLoc provide on-the-fly access to the lock and are an excellent match with RockShox Deluxe rear shocks.

The RS-1 will be available April 2017 for $1,680.
