Today Öhlins launched a new single chamber air shock called the TTX1 to complement their dual chamber shock, now dubbed TTX2. The single air chamber configuration is said to work well for bikes with linear progression curves that need extra support from the shock at the end of the stroke. The different character of these two models will help Öhlins better design tunes for stock bike builds, which should make their OEM customers happy.

The newly released single chamber shock is also slimmer and will fit more frame designs as a result. That svelte shape shaves a reported 60-80g off the twin-chamber model, with a claimed 390g weight for the standard metric 190x45mm size.

On the tuneability front, the brand says that the TTX1 will see a significant ramp up with each additional volume spacer, while the larger air can on the TTX2 allows for smaller adjustments and a more precise tune. Both shocks share the same external high-speed compression, low-speed compression, rebound adjustments, and a climb mode.

TTX1 shocks are available in metric and trunnion mounts for $720 or €645.
