Interesting concept, I'm going to guess that with 3D printing technologies today we may be seeing more of this type of wheel sets in the future at much lower cost.
I have the carbon release 5c and love it, great build quality.  Name brands have never meant much to me.

Highly recommend you not do this.  Wind drag at highway speeds will RIP it off, and possibly damage your bike as well as the rack.
