The 11 Newest MTB Trails from Around the World [November 2020]

Mountain bikers around the world are enjoying new mountain bike trails this month thanks to the hard work of dedicated volunteers and land managers.

Mountain bikers around the world are enjoying new mountain bike trails this month thanks to the hard work of dedicated volunteers and land managers. Here are nine projects that were recently completed.

Arundel Flow Trail (Arundel, Maine): The flow trail at the Arundel Community Trail System officially opened in October, and another flow trail is planned for 2021.

Blue Marsh (Reading, Pennsylvania): The Blue Marsh trail system recently added a skills area for new and experienced riders alike to work on their progression.

Glade Run (Farmington, New Mexico): The trails at Glade Run Recreation Area outside Farmington were recently rehabilitated, and eight miles of new singletrack was opened this month.

Hansen Pond Preserve (Acton, Maine): This 2.4-mile, out-and-back trail officially opened yesterday and features rolling terrain.

Heyward Community Forest (Charlottesville, Virginia): Five miles of purpose-built singletrack opened to bikes in this 142 acre nature preserve.

Hot Rod (Queenstown, New Zealand): The new Hot Rod trail at Coronet Peak extends the popular Rude Rock trail down to the valley below.

Motts Run Reservoir (Fredericksburg, Virginia): While mountain bikers have been enjoying the trails at Motts Run for several years, a new trail section opened recently, allowing riders to make a full loop around the lake.

Rotary Rock and Roll (Campbell River, British Columbia): A 1-km flow trail funded by Rotary of Campbell River and the River City Cycle Club.

Smooth Criminal (Cañon City, Colorado): This new flow trail begins in B.F. Rockafellow Ecology Park and descends into Schepp Open Space.

Sutton Bank National Park Centre (Thirsk, England): This park recently added a pump track and 2.5km of family-friendly bike trails. The new trails double as a cyclocross track during the fall and winter months.

Vasa Trail (Traverse City, Michigan): While the skills loop at the Vasa Trail system was completed in 2019, it officially opened this fall.
