On this Episode
Maurice and his partner Elaine started Dirt Rag back in 1989. For decades the magazine documented the sport and for many carried with it the very soul of mountain biking.
Maurice talks about how mountain bike gear and culture has evolved over the past three decades, and his recent decision to cease operations at the iconic publication.

Great interview! Love that Maurice mentioned the significance of the DirtFests. Some of my favorite memories of riding at Raystown Lake & Big Bear Lake!
I must be one of the last subscribers to Dirt Rag in the last 3 years. It was a different magazine. But, with the rise of you-tubers, I can see how magazines are out. Too bad. Great to listen to you while we are all in quarantine!
Somethings I like about the “future” is the awesomeness that is Outerbike, the conveniance of youtube, more races, better equipment, lift access, more trails, and the amount of competition we are seeing from direct to consumer brands.
Keep up the podcast, Jeff. I enjoy the content.
