2026 Turbo Levo R bikes on sale to make way for 2027s

Specialized has discounted its 2026 Turbo Levo R e-bikes as 2027 models arrive. Here's how the two model years compare and where pricing stands.

With 2027 Specialized Turbo Levo R models now in stock, the 2026 models are seeing big price reductions. Notably, the S-Works Turbo Levo R, which Singletracks tested in February, is available for just $8,999, down from the launch price of $15,650. Specialized later reduced the price of Turbo Levo bikes across the board in a “permanent shift,” with the S-Works Levo R seeing the biggest drop of all, down to $11,499. Today’s closeout price is $2,500 lower than that.

What’s changed from 2026 to 2027

The Turbo Levo R, introduced just this year, has 140/130mm of suspension travel front/rear, and is positioned as an electric short-travel/downcountry mountain bike. Just eight months after its debut, the 2027 Levo R models are in with a few minor changes.

First up: the 2027 Levo R comes with a bigger 900Wh battery compared to a 840Wh battery previously. With that change, the reported weight of a size S3 S-Works Levo R increased by more than a pound to 48lb, 1.7oz.

Another big change, at least for the S-Works model, is a move to RockShox suspension from Fox. At the same time, the S-Works switched from a RockShox electronic dropper post to a Fox. The switch to a RockShox shock for 2027 is notable because prior to this year, Specialized Genie suspension tech was limited to Fox shocks only.

2027 Turbo Levo R Comp models still spec Fox suspension, while a newly introduced 2027 “Pro” build goes with RockShox. The Levo R Ultralight, introduced in July, is a 2027 model year bike and is not discounted.

Though it might appear that Specialized has updated the tire spec for the 2027 Levo R models, a closer look reveals what’s essentially just a name change. The mountain bike tire formerly known as Purgatory, last updated in 2023, is now called the Trail Control. Judging by online photos, the tread pattern and knobs are identical.

2026 Turbo Levo R models availability and pricing

Availability of discounted 2026 Turbo Levo R models varies by size. The smallest sizes, S1 and S2, are not available for home delivery, though it appears some local shops still have these in stock. Sizes S4 through S6 are showing good availability for home delivery, depending on the frame color.
