How come no one told me about this? On June 13th 10 mountain bikers set out on a 535 mile race along the Colorado Trail from Waterton Canyon near Denver to Durango (good Denver Post article here). It’s about 60,000 feet of climbing in case you were wondering.

Race organizers are keeping things simple and old school with the race, starting with promotion. The race was set up through word of mouth (how come no one here clued us in?) and there is no entry fee and no prize. Riders must be self supported and following the few rules in completely on the honor system. There’s even a guy in the race on a fixed gear bike, how’s that for keeping things simple?
If you’re in the race or if you happen to see the guys along the way, give us an update here!
