I could possibly see this working in smaller communities but I dont think it will last. Everyone wants to say there more green but most of it is for show. Nice concept anyway
I always crank up the tunes in the car while driving to the trails. Anything hard & heavy will do but like most riders here I perfer the animals the trees & the sound of my bike speeding down the trail. The more your in tune to your surroundings the better the ride. Just my thoughts 😀
Thanks for the link.
Hey thanks JDH for that site on riding clothes. Lots of good info! Im starting to understand the whole layering thing. I know now I will definatly stay away from cotton & stick with other materials that dont absorb moisture. Thanks for all the input from everyone & also the websites. I will definatly look into all the options. Thanks again 😀
I think I will go with the full thermal tights underneth my mtb shorts. I can remove the liner from the shorts so I think that will work great. Like alot of cold weather riders the upperbody is my main concern. I think my sleeveless cold gear compression shirt will keep my core nice & warm but Im still stumped on the whole layering thing. I thought you supposed to wear cotton layers over the moisture wickering shirts. is this true? I just want to get the whole layering thing in the right order to obtain maximum performance in the cold. Also do arm warmers work good or should I go with a full sleeve thermal shirt? I thank everyone for the imput so far.
Wow! Fully rigid. Thats got to hurt the next day. Im sore the next day on my hardtail. Got to give you props for that. But I guess fully rigid is all they had back in the day. Glad I missed out on that. LOL. 😆
Yeah! what he said. Sorry! Had to do it 😆
Wow I cant wait to ride in that area. Ive Never ridden outside of MO but Im looking foward to a trip soon. Its definately mtn bike country. Have fun. 😀
The tires I’m running on the bike are Tyrannoraptors. They are kind of knobby. It probably wouldnt hurt to find a little smoother tread. I dont know a hole lot about going tubeless but I can see how that would make a difference. Also changing out the seatpost, fork, & things like that sound good also. I think I’ll start with the tires & possibly go tubeless then go down the line from there. Thanks for all the input. Now I have a good idea where to start dropping a little weight. Thanks again 😃
I pedeled trough then looked down & saw my toe dangling by a peice of skin. Then I fell over & mildly when into shock from all the blood. Yeah for an eight year old to see his toe hanging like that was pretty shocking but I made it through just fine. Rip niner! I like it! HAHA
Sorry for the bad luck. I hope your finger heals up soon & you get back on the trails. When I was eight years old I was riding my bike barefooted & got my middle toe caught between the chain & crank but I didnt have freewheel on my bike. I had to peddle the rest of the way to get my foot out. I guess the doctor said there wasnt enough tendon there to sew it back on so he cut the rest of it off. I have been living with nine toes ever since. LOL…but its never slowed me down. Good luck with the recovery!
The bike I’m refering to is my old Giant Warp Ds2. It’s a FS bike! I have been letting my wife ride this bike while she waits to get her own. Its a pretty heavy bike but I figured I could make it a little lighter for her. Everything on the bike is stock! It has an aluminum frame but I think the rear triangle is steel. Not sure why it’s so heavy. Maybe you could help me with ideas. Thanks
I dont ride on the road very much anymore but at one time I was addicted. I recently traded my Bianchi road bike for my current HT mtb. I dont think I will ever go back cause I love the challange of mtn biking & being surrounded by nature is what I enjoy. Happy trails everyone! 😀
Yeah there was this one 4×4 spot where everyone used to go 4 wheelin. I often took the mtb down there to ride. It was a little different from your well maintained singletrack but fun nun the less. One day I was riding out there when I came acrossed some guys 4wheelin & gave them a freindly wave. They slowly drove towards me with a supprised look on there faces & said oh man we thought you were a Park Ranger. 😆 I guess they were expecting to get a ticket for trespassing. I still laugh at that! Enjoy the trails dude.
I usually dont ride the trails when there wet but if its covered with leaves I dont feel as bad. Yeah I might still be leaving a light tread behind but what you cant see doesnt hurt. HAHAHA…. 😆
I have an older CATEYE light that mounts on the bars. Its always worked pretty good! Its been a while since my last night ride but there always fun. If I get back into it I will probably throw a beam on my helmet for more visibility. You know got to look over the shoulder for the boogie man….LOL. Have fun on the night rides! 😼
Thanx for your responses I have considered selling off my hardtail to help finance my build but decided to keep it for a backup bike or to maybe switch off every once in a while but thanx for the idea. Also thanx to FAT BOY for the website I really like those jamis frames I have heared alot of good things about those bikes & the price is nice too. Thanx again guys for your imput it always helps to hear a fellow MTBers opinion. Later
Thats a very cool picture. I hope some day I can bring my kids. That would be a blast. Good luck 😀
Thanx everybody for your response these replies have helped me alot. I currently ride a Specialized Hardrock sport its my first desent hardtail. Before I road a Giant Warp Ds2 full suspension but it was pretty heavy & felt sloppy when climbing. Anywayz I think I will stick with my hardtail until my skillz improve or my knees give out LOL. Thanks again everybody for your response. 😃
