"ShinyPebble" wrote[quote="decker1x":3i09b2xf]ok i just took a ride up the hill behind my house and wow thats a workout! its actually a pretty cool hill.it has 7 different trails, some steep and some not so steep.when i got to the top i was dead! at least the ride down was easy.i think i got myself a good little workout hill, its a two minute ride from my garage to the bottom of the hill.
SWEET! My whole back yard is a hill and I would be more than willing to carve trails all over it but my wife just ain’t feeling it. Between the monster hill and all the trails running out to your dad’s place, it sounds like you have a great place to sharpen up. What’s Temecula like? Is it desert or forest or what?[/quote:3i09b2xf]yeah its pretty cool here, i live 30 mins from the beach and 40 mins from the mountains.Temecula is getting to be a pretty big city but the outskirts are desert.
how often should i lube up the bike? every ride?

"element22" wroteTake a visit to your LBS.. You should consider only using the correct fluids avaliable there. At least they are compatable with your bike. Using WD40 is highly not recommended. WD40 really is meant to displace water and break free rusted bolts. It is not really a lubricant. Using correct oil for the chain and cables is a must.
thats what i thought, just wanted to make sure.
i looked around and couldnt find anything, whats lubes and oils should i be using? lube for chain, oil for hubs or seat post? wd-40???
Sorry for the two threads,I was trying to keep the questions in the right places.is it hard to true the wheel myself?
I’ll check the hub seal the noise seems to be coming from there. And I think I need to have my wheel trued.I forgot to add I have rim brakes. Thank guys for the welcome and I’m sure I’ll have a lot more questions for you.
Rim brakes
So far so good. I’ve only been around the block on it tho, some squeaks coming from the front tire hub area. I’m going to ride all the back road and trail from my house to my dads(around 15-20 miles) should be fun.
