SDMBA Teams up With Canyon to Raise Funds for Trails

The San Diego Mountain Biking Association and Monuments of Cycling, creators of the Canyon Belgian Waffle Ride, have launched a fundraising campaign to benefit advocacy and trail work in San Diego.

The San Diego Mountain Biking Association and Monuments of Cycling, creators of the Canyon Belgian Waffle Ride, have launched a fundraising campaign to benefit advocacy and trail work in San Diego. The grand prize winner will get $4,000 toward a new Canyon bike.

The ‘Choose Your Canyon’ campaign proceeds will go toward SDMBA mountain bike projects, with ten percent of each contribution going to Bikes Del Pueblo, a non-profit that seeks to help local communities with bicycle education and mechanical and transportation self-sufficiency.

One $10 donation gets one entry, while a $20 donation will get three entries. Thus, a $1,000 donation would net 150 tickets, says SDMBA. The second prize available is a Fox Racing prize pack with a helmet, gloves, and a jersey.

SDMBA is hoping to raise $30,000 with the 7-week fundraiser, which began June 7 and will end July 17, with a winner selected at 8PM that day.

“SDMBA is honored to be the charity partner of the Canyon Belgian Waffle Ride and to have such amazing ongoing support from its founders, with Monuments of Cycling and Canyon continuing to ride side by side with us as we move towards a productive trail work season” said Susie Murphy, Executive Director of SDMBA.
