New Mexico mountain biking is getting more exciting with the introduction of this year’s first Enduro Cup. This series of races is being sponsored by Sport System’s Mountain Top Cycling team, which has been sponsoring both road and mountain bike races, as well as triathlons, for seven years.

The NM Enduro Cup kicks off June 7th with a two-day event at Angel Fire, voted the best bike park in the Southwest by MTBParks.com, as well as the 2nd best bike park in North America by Liftopia. The two-day event features the Oso High Enduro Race on Saturday, as well as a cross-country race on Sunday which is part of the New Mexico Off Road Series.

The series then stops August 2nd at the Pajarito Ski Area in Los Alamos, NM (a new addition to the series) before heading to the Sandia Peak Ski Area in Albuquerque on August 10th. The series then returns to Angel Fire on September 7th for an epic final race for the Enduro Cup.

With the help of fantastic sponsors, the races at Angel Fire and Sandia have already garnered $6,000 in prizes. Pajarito was recently added to the series, and with it hopefully an addition to the prize purse. These stops all provide extremely scenic views of northern New Mexico on fantastic race courses that won’t disappoint.

If you’re looking to add additional races on top of the Big Mountain Enduro series, then look no further! The New Mexico Enduro Cup also looks to be shaping up as a cheaper–though just as exciting–series, with registration at or below $100 per race.
