New for 2020, NS Bikes will upsize its popular SNABB 27.5 enduro offering with their distinctly versatile Define 130 and 150 bikes. The Define bikes will be available with a wide variety of component specs, in full carbon or alloy frames, and the rear end can be swapped between 130 and 155mm of rear travel. Granted, riders either have to own two sets of suspension or know how to change air-springs to adjust fork lengths, but the overall versatility of this frame is clear.
The Define 130 iteration uses a 140mm fork, and the Define 150 has a proper 160mm of travel at the front, both with 44mm offset measurements.
The bike’s BB can be raised or lowered 5mm by swapping the position of the shock mount, and owners can select the frame’s overall travel of 130 or 155mm by swapping out the mount and shock for different lengths.
The Define frames are made in two sizes, and the 10mm adjustable headset cups allow for a custom rider fit. Based on the geometry table below, it would appear that these bikes will fit a wide range of people. The seat tubes are short, providing ample room for short legs and fully-inserted dropper posts, while the reach and chainstay measurements are right on the money for a modern enduro race whip.
The bike’s hardest working bearing is hidden inside the frame, which NS says will lengthen the bike’s service interval.
The Define frames are mechanic-friendly, apart from the BB92 bottom bracket, hiding all of the cables and housing under the downtube, for a clean aesthetic and easy serviceability.
In addition to the Define 130 and 150 frames, NS is offering an alloy mullet version of the bike, with 160mm of rear travel and 170mm at the business end.
NS says that the new bikes will start at €4,499 (about $5,000USD). Additional pricing and availability for the new bikes will be live on the NS Bikes site in the near future.
