Review: Fun trails. After many many years ridding, I blew out my rear detailer for the first time and had to walk 3.5 miles back to the parking lot. Gota get my ole ride back up and go back and complete the 9 mile loop.

Review: Years ago it was just, Marl Ravine trail across the road... This well established trail offered intermediate fun/fast, somewhat flowy slightly techy XC singletrack. It was the premier place to ride in Hampton roads but only offered 6 miles. Now there are over 20 miles with the addition of super easy Bearcat/Bobcat Run and John Blair Trails. These are strictly XC trails but theyre long and offer the rare opportunity to really throw down some long wattage efforts and sustain serious speed over miles of flowy singletrack. The speed you can carry makes this trail hugely fun. Great multiuse trail with a fire road to get you out and back.

Review: With the addition of the John Blair Trail in the last few years there are now about 23 miles of singletrack here. A pump track has been added recently although its a wee one, the bumps are too close together, and it all needs better compaction. Trails are generally moderate in difficulty but the riding is flowey and fun. For beginners there are plenty of doubletrack access roads most of which intersect singletrack sections allowing a mix of riding. I have attached a 2017 map of all bike trails (its on page 2 of the photo gallery) which is better than the Park map because it combines all the singletrack and the access roads. Take the Backbone Trail from parking lot to Laurel Glen, Bearcat/Bobcat Run, Marl Ravine, or John Blair Trails.

Review: Fun trail. If your looking for a great place to practice your skills or have a fun outing with the family this is it. Trails are fun and can be challenging in spots. The park itself is beautiful with plenty of other activities.

Review: Good stuff; Rode a little over 20 miles along the Marl Ravine and John Blair trails. Nice and tight single track. Not a lot of elevation change but enough to keep you honest. super fun. Will detail this in my new book, Mountain Bike Virginia

Review: Good trails laid out well. Lots of winding and looping around ridges and valleys. Nothing too technical in most of the singletrack. I hear Marl Ravine is most difficult but we didn't have enough time to try it. Worth a short trip since there are over 20 miles of trail open to cyclists.

Review: This is a pretty nice trail system that features some pretty hardcore switchbacks that force you to really be in control of your bike. As for hills and downhills, this trail pretty much rolls the whole time so you while there aren't many strenuous uphills, you also don't get any white knuckle descents. I rode the Marl Ravine and the Bobcat Run and both were fun rides.

One of the best parts of YRSP was the amenities. There were a lot of other things to do at the park and the facilities were quite nice. In the end, if I lived in the area, I would ride this a lot. Since I don't, I won't be making any trips just to ride this trail.
