Trail Description
About this trail
Trail is intermediate in difficulty with steep mountainside terrain. Although the elevation change from the trail's highest to lowest point is only a few hundred feet, there are lots of ups and downs.

Only park in the HHS lot after 5pm or on the weekend. Park out along the road otherwise. Trailhead is on the left approximately half way up the main entrance/driveway to the Health and Human Science Building.

Review: What a great trial system! Really well marked and in perfect condition. The climb to the top will certainly bust a lung, but the reward is a fantastic flowing downhill trail.

Review: Written July 17 2017. Large tree down 1/2 way thru yellow section. Major obstacle. Trail handling the rains well. Didn't have trouble getting tires to hook up. Lots of climbing and some of it like the gut-busting power line switchbacks. Ouch. Fast wide downhills make for awesome descent

Review: I helped build these trails during my time at the college and I have a certain attachment to them. The uphills are steep or long and sometimes both, but the down hills are amazing. The trail condition is outstanding thanks to the associate director Josh Whitmore of Base Camp Cullowhee and his fleet of volunteers and staff. The trail is pretty difficult cardiovascular wise because of the uphills but will make every other trail you ride seem like a breeze. It's not too technical but has nice flowing sections that connect. I would recommend this trail for anyone who wants to shred and burn off yesterday's and today's breakfast.

Review: This trail is really nice. The views aren't that great because you can't see most of them, but the trail itself is great. Going up is tough, but going down is awesome. Lots of jumps.

Review: I recently rode the newly opened WCU trails and I can say I was highly impressed. I rode solo and I had a blast! We live in Asheville but the in laws live in Waynesville, and there is nothing close to there unless we decide to make the trek to Tsali or Noc. This is much more convenient. The trail was pretty much empty on a Beautiful Saturday afternoon. I parked in the HHS lot. Trail starts out with a pretty decent 5-10 min climb and I was definitely warmed up when getting to the top. Trails were great ridden in either directions, fast flows, tons of jumps, switchbacks, and berms. There are some pretty moderate climbs along the way, but nothing killer. Recommend riding all three loops, they are worth it. I had so much fun I turned around and rode the other direction. Big props to the trail designers. These trails are definitely intermediate, nothing too technical, just fun from start to finish. I will be going back often with friends.
