This trail is difficult. Considered the hardest trail in santa clarita and one of the longest. You sart at the parking lot and climb the fireroad for 4 miles then once you stop climbing and you hit the platuea just keep going straight. the entrance isnt marked yet but i will put 2 red flags there to mark it. If you hit the bathroom then you went to far. Remember it starts at the platuea. This trail will take you all the way back to the parking lot.

Getting there
Exit at newhall Ave off the 14. Then park at the rideshare lot right next to on and off ramp. Parking might be tough. You can park at the carls jr. For those who live in santa clarita just go to the end of Newhall ave.
I rode it!   Add to another list

This isn't a trail... it's actuall a firebreak made by a bulldozer down a ridge line. Some steep rideable sections, however mostly rutted out. Had to hike a bike on multiple sections.

Really fun fire road climb, seems like it would be fun shooting down it. The downhill trail is fun but can be tricky. Have taken a couple diggers trying to set times on a xc bike😂. Very fun

Fun, fast, flowing trail. 3.8 mile climb make a left right before the 3 oak trees and ride back to the parking lot. Dope! Had to walk down 2 sections and probably should have walked 2 more but made it out okay. right off the 14 at Newhall.

Still a great ride. The climb is a great workout and the descent a lot of fun. There are two drop sections which have always been rutted and loose hard pack and still are, and the drop into canyon after passing the barbed wire fence is SUPER rutted with lots of baseball sized rocks in it. Haven't ridden it since they bulldozed a firebreak through it years ago. It's just as fun and challenging as it used to be. My odometer clocked it as an 8 1/2 mile loop from the Park and Ride at the end of San Fernando and took me about an hour and half to ride. Bring lots of water and wear sunscreen in the summer because there is no shade.

Great winter ride. So hot in the summer. Exposed to sun and wind. About 11 miles round trip if u park at newhall park n ride.

This trail rocks. It is very fast and technical and can be unpredictable in the winter with ruts and with the trail being mostly made of compacted sand. You don't need a downhill bike for this trail. Ive done it on a hard tail. I do prefer to use my Slayer though. Great night ride too!!!
