#43 of 289 mountain bike trails in Florida
One of the Red (advanced) trails at Carter Road. The name pretty much says it all. Quick ups and downs. Surprising for a Florida Trail. One option you can take has a crazy STEEP slope you can go down. It's almost like looking down a wall when you're at the top of it. Overall, this trail is pretty short. It is more of a link trail.

Take I-4 to Lakeland to Exit 18. Head South on Highway 37 approximately 12 to 15 miles. (Also known as 98 or South Florida Avenue) towards Mulberry. The last major intersection along 37 prior to the trail is Shepherd Road. Approximately 1 mile past the Shepherd Road intersection turn left on Carter Road (East) Entrance to park is approximately 3/4 mile on the right (south).
