Mountain Biking Rodeo

#323 of 696 mountain bike trails in Utah
#11,783 in the world

You start by going south on Chisolm trail. Then take a right onto "Rowdy" trail, which is a small loop near the campground. When you see a fork for Rowdy, look back just a few feet and you will see the entrance to the Rodeo trail loop. The loop is quite new, so much of the southern dirt sections are still loose, and you will walk many of them.
As these sections pack in and harden, this will be one of the more flowy trails in Horsethief. Over the years, I've noticed that the newer trails are built much more flowy than older trails. More effort and work has been done to create better rock ramps. There is really no rock "steps" larger than maybe 8", so certainly less intimidating to true intermediates. The northern sections have more slickrock sections, while the more southern section is more in the dirt, which will be super-flowy in a few years.
Highly recommended for a fatbike now.

Getting there
Head north out of Moab on Hwy 191. Go west onto Hwy 313 toward Canyonlands NP. As you get on top of the mesa, and are going south, look for the Horsethief Camground on the west side of the road. (BLM 340). The trailhead is in about 1/4 mile on the south side of the gravel road.
