Mountain Biking Ridgeline Open Space Trail

****   Add a review
#58 of 1,377 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#423 in the world

This trail system is all singletrack. There is nothing technical other than switchbacks, and it has some short but steep climbs. Access it from any trailhead, pick a loop and do several laps.

The climbs are good exercise, the switchbacks keep you on your toes and the view of the front range is amazing.

If you live in the area, this is a great after work ride, or for getting in shape after a long winter.

Rider questions

Q: What is the average pacetime of this trail? Coming out for a wedding in June and bringing the fatties with...
A: If you do the full loop, you should be able to complete it in under 1:30. It's a 10 mile loop and a stronger rider can easily average 10mph. There are lots of by-pass connectors that you can use to shorten the ride if needed. You can also lengthen the ride by including Phillip S. Miller park which adds another 6 miles. For some great post ride beers, be sure to check out 105 West Brewing Company http://105westbrewing.com/

Q: parking hours
A: Officially, sunrise to sunset, but there is no gate. There are also no lights, so security can be an issue. If you know you'll be out past dark, ride from Bison Park.
