Trail Description
About this trail
Intermediate equipment, moderate to intense aerobic. Start at the southernmost entrance to the trail crossing over Provo river. Follow the single track path up the ridge until it meets the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (single track here). Turn left on the trail and follow through meadows and scrub oaks until the tail comes to a gate where it becomes double track. Take double track to the left between the two gates and follow the trail for about a third of a mile until you see a single track turn sharply uphill to the right. This is the Great Western Trail 033, take it. This trail is a rocky continuous uphill that I had to push on many parts, but a more veteran rider with better equipment could do it riding. Take this trail until you come to a clearing with a five way split and a large pile of rocks. Add a rock. The 033 turn right and goes up the mountain at this point, bit you will continue straight. As you continue, you'll see several trails fork off. Ignore them and stay on the main trail. The next landmark is a large steep rocky hill that I had to push up. When you get to the top you'll go a little way and the trail will curve to the left. At the end of the curve, the tail meets with another single track, the 051 Curly Springs Trail. Take this trail and enjoy the downhill all the way down into Dry Canyon. Take the Dry Canyon trail down to the parking lot. There is an area of rocks that you'll have to carry down and some stairs near the parking lot that I wouldn't recommend riding down. When you get to the parking lot, take a left on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and take it all the way back to Canyon Glen Park. Take the path down to the park and you'll come out where you started. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. There's no working water on the trail until June and there is very little cover.

Review: Great trail for really getting out into the bush. The better equipment you have, the more fun it will be.
