Mountain Biking Fall River State Park

***   Add a review
#35 of 85 mountain bike trails in Kansas
#6,721 in the world

Following the signs directing you to Whitehall Bay Campground, you will find the trailheads located on the east side of the lake along paved Badger Creek Rd. The trail is a nice mix of flowy twisty trees with large rock formations at intervals for an interesting trail experience that will make you work for short intervals followed by enough recovery to keep it fun. Not too physical, not too technical with some short technical surprises thrown in here and there. And if you want more physical and technical, just pick up the pace, you won't be disappointed. The trail is located within the Corps Public Hunting Area and some discretion of trail use is advised during Firearms Deer Season and Spring Turkey Seasons.

This trail is maintained by Kansas Singletrack Society. Go to KSSingletrack.com and select the About KSS tab to report a trail issue.

There are three separate riding areas here. The Badger Creek Area has the Badger Creek North and Badger Creek South systems which can easily be joined by a short road ride. North is mostly easy and South is mostly challenging. Completely separate at the south end of the lake is a third area that is mostly mowed lawn trail with no features. This area does not drain well and gets very little traffic so trail conditions can be very dicey.

    Reviewing Casner Creek Trail:

This is a short boring trail. Needs some maintenance. The only thing fun about this trail is the wood plank bridges. The prairie grass is tough to ride through this time of year.

    Reviewing Turkey Run Trail:

This is a very short trail. Not much to see and no challenges. there is a good view of the lake at the top of the hill heading back to the trailhead. Would not waist my time riding this trail.

Rode both North and South trails today. Trails are in really good shape was some larger limbs that had blown down was able to clear these out the way as I was riding. Ground a little soft in spots and loose rocks but over all excellent. More people need to go ride an absolutly great trails

The trails here need people to ride them. They are fairly easy to ride. They could also expand the trails to utilize the wooded and rocky aeras. The trails were in not to bad of shape, just soft. Over all not a bad ride.
