Milma is almost 4 miles of flowy, bike legal 4x4 trails that are quickly
converting back to doubletrack. It's nice break from the uphill grunt on
Windy Gap if you choose to access it from that point. It's a even nicer
reprieve if you choose to access it from the technical, arm-pumping DH you'll
find coming down Tibbs ORV trail. No major climbs but scenic mountain
views and several creek crossings that are all very ridable. Most people
combine it with Windy Gap, Tibss ORV, and a short section of FS 68 to
complete the feared "Windy Gap Loop" but it can easily be ridden as an out
and back if you don't want to deal with Tibbs or Windy Gap.

Before you go
  • No Drinking water
  • No E-bikes permitted
  • No Fat biking allowed in winter
  • No Fee required
  • No Lift service
  • No Night riding allowed
  • No Pump track
  • No Restrooms
Getting there
From Eton, head east for 4.3 miles on Old CCC Camp Rd. Turn left on FS
218. The road will be marked with a Windy Gap Cycle Trail sign. Follow FS
218 2 miles to the Windy Gap Parking lot. Pedal 1.5 miles up the Windy Gap
trail and the Milma Creek trail will start on your right. You can't miss the
sign. The other access point is located approximately 2.5 miles from the top
of the Tibbs ORV trail which has a trailhead on FS 68 at the top of Grassy
Mt.

Rocky ORV trail that runs across the mountain, gaining and losing some elevation along the way but never a lot at once, and ending up about equal at the end. This trail connects from Windy Gap to Tibbs and is a nice break from the technical onslaught that is Tibbs.

Rode this trail today along with Tibbs ORV, FS 68, and Windy Gap to complete the Windy Gap Loop. Compared to Tibbs and the upper portions of Windy Gap, Milma is easy from both the technical and aerobic standpoints. It really was an enjoyable ride that let me get my breath back after slogging up Windy Gap. Unfortunately, the soul crushing climb up Tibbs comes all too soon and I was sorely missing the smooth grades of Milma. While the trail itself is probably a low intermediate level of difficulty, the difficult access to the trail keeps most people without a motor away. Luckily, the ATVs haven't torn up the trail as they are also few and far between. Instead of looping Milma to the others in the west to east direction, another fun ride might be to shuttle Tibbs/ to Milma/ to Windy Gap downhill.
