Mountain Biking Little Blue Trace

***   Add a review
#136 of 158 mountain bike trails in Missouri
#11541 in the world

Very easy and mostly flat crushed rock trail. Lots of middle of nowhere riding for the most part. Only one big hill at the northernmost end, but it will still make ya sweat a bunch. Lots of walkers and joggers on the trail too.

Best to start from the MO 78 parking lot, ride north, come back and then head to the south part of the trail, as there are no places to get water or anything.

I really like this trail because of it is a nice relaxing ride. Nothing difficult at all, and plenty of people riding it, but not very crowded. I see lots of kids on it with their parents, and lots of seniors riding it as well.

Before you go
  • No Drinking water
  • No E-bikes permitted
  • No Fat biking allowed in winter
  • No Fee required
  • No Lift service
  • No Night riding allowed
  • No Pump track
  • No Restrooms
Getting there
Best way to get to the MO 78 lot is via MO 7. It is about 1 mile west of the traffic circle by Lake City ammuntion plant. Other lots to start from that are good are at I-70 and Little Blue Parkway lot (north of the interstate about 1/4 mile on east side of road) and the north end of the trail at Blue Mills Road. Take MO 7 north to Blue Mills, then a mile west.

Not singletrack but a nice greenway trail to ride for an easy spin. Some interesting things along the trail to see.

Not a technical trail, but a great place to stretch your legs. Some nice scenery, easy riding, lots of options for distance. Ride as far as you want, as fast as you want. Great to take the kids on.

I wouldn't consider this a "Mountain Bike Trail." This can be conquered with a hybrid bike. It is a paved/gravel path that snakes along the Little Blue River for 15+ miles.

Flat, one way-non circular. Nice for scenery. I like to cycle it because its long and if you kick up gear on your bike its really not that easy. --Speaking as a intermediate rider in good physical shape. Not many people on the trail. Its all gravel.

The only time I ever come here is with the kids. Ill throw on the bike trailer and cruise. The only other reason I would ride here is to dail in the bike cause its wide smooth & VERY VERY FLAT
