Mountain Biking Hogan Trail / Coyote Point Trail

****   Add a review
#211 of 1,005 mountain bike trails in California
#2,845 in the world

Very hot and rocky trail only cover is at turn around point. Trail currently has several very narrow spots where your hands will be scraping bushes as you pass. Fairly flat with some rocky climbs. Trail is not heavily traveled. Trail is also known as Area 51 the name fits. There is an advanced trail that randomly intersects for those who really want the technical rocky stuff.

Getting there
"Out of Valley Springs, head NE on Hiways 12/26. Go 1/2 mile, turn right on Lime Creek/St. Petersburg. Follow St.P. to Acorn East Campground. Trail starts out of the day use parking lot. Following the bike signs, ride across Oak Knoll Campground. 100 yards after hitting the fireroad, look for the singletrack beginning on your left. Usually, the trail on your right going out is the intermediate trail. Feel free to email me for a trail map.";"There are two degrees of difficulty on this trail. There is an intermediate trail, which follows the waterline, and an advanced trail, which winds above the intermediate trail. Occasionally, they meet. The advanced trail is approx. 10 miles long out & back, but is extremely difficult in spots! No water available on the trail (except for lake water) and it's very rocky, up & down terrain. Not many high-speed sections, but it's lot of fun. Can get hot!
