Trail Description
About this trail
All trails are to be ridden counter clockwise. The Fort Harrison Mountain Bike Trail system is broken down into three trails ranging from easy to advanced. The beginner trail is Camp Glen and is an approx 1 mile loop located on the furthest west section of the trail system. The intermediate trail is called Lawrence Creek trail and is connected to the Camp Glen trail and is approx 3.5m long. The advanced trail is called Schoen Creek and is about 3.5 miles long. You can get to this trail either by taking the connector off the intermediate trail then turn right on Glenn Rd. then left on Trailer Court Rd to Schoen Creek trail. Parts of this trail are built into the sides of hills and have pretty good drop-offs. The trail system is very well maintained and would be a great afterwork ride. Total time for all three trails is about 1 hour. There are three trailheads and all are highlighted on the maps that you can pick up at the park entrance. I rode aprox 9.25 miles which includes the road riding from one trail to another.

Review: This is a very fun trail and a great place to bring the younger mountain bikers in the family as they are progressing! Fun ride and a great little park for being close to Indy.

Review: I was passing through from out of state and stopped by. I found the trails incredibly well-maintained and a lot of fun. I didn't find any of the trails too technical or difficult. I'll definitely ride them again next time I'm in town. Note that there's a $7 entry fee into the park and there were a lot of hikers with children on the trail.

Review: In brief, it's "little Brown County". This trail provides just the right amount of flow and chunk to provide you with a great cardio and interval workout. It has a handful of significant downhill runs lasting several minutes. Camp Glenn - an easy beginner friendly loop with good lateral and mild vertical elevation changes. Beginners should park at the far west end of the park. Lawrence Creek - Intermediate climbs with occasional rocks and log-overs. 3 significant downhill runs. Climbs are interrupted mild to medium grades. The trail also goes over multiple stream crossings and provides nice vistas. Schoen Creek - More advanced grades and sustained climbs. This side of the park is "chunkier" and more technical. There is also access to the Fall Creek Pathway through the West side of the park as well as a paved cycling/pedestrian path on the NorthEast side of the park. Bicycles are prohibited from the unpaved hiking trails on the NorthEast portion of the park and the Equestrian trails on the South side.

Review: I am a beginner when it comes to mountain biking but I thought both of these trails was awesome. They didn't overwhelm me and provided a good enough challenge to work on my skills.

Review: Had a blast taking a rip on these trails following a week working at the Indianapolis convention center! Super flow, tight turns, and located on an old Army base! Awesome!

Review: This is a very fun ride. Is it hard for an experienced MTBer? No. There are no climbs, and nothing technical. But go ride them! Get in there and crank, and you will have a blast! A previous review said that there was a lot of mud. Rode today and the trails were about as perfect as they could be. If it is wet, don't ride them. Too much effort has been put into building and maintaining these trails to jack them up riding them while they are wet. If you are going to be visiting Indy for a couple days (like I am), bring your bike! Ride these trails. You will be glad you did.

Review: Fun trail in Indy. Intermediate trail. Won't disappoint. Trail is divided by a road so don't think it ends at the road. Everything runs counter-clockwise direction.

Review: MUD. MUD. MUD. MUD. There are so many creek crossings/ruts/sloppy corners that it isn't even fun to ride. The most difficult part is not sliding off the side of one of the many blind corners that are about 2' wide with a 10' drop-off. I'm sure there are better trails in the area.
